Unit Introduction and What You Will Learn:

Week 12 looks at specific micro-level intervention strategies for working with clients. The learning objectives for this week are as follows:

• Identify at least four models for intervention on a micro level
• Identify strategies to adapt those models to people with disabilities

A–01: Asynchronous Participation and Engagement

Students are to make at least three replies across any of the five open forums this week. Remember, the expectation is to read all of the posts. Your responses can include another student’s reply if you contribute something substantial to the discussion. Be sure to post on two separate days to show engagement. The following are the five forums this week:

• Assignment 04: Analysis of Activist Work on Social Media still isn’t due until week 14 on Sunday 04/24/22 at 11:55 PM, but I want to offer another opportunity for people to ask questions in the forum, Questions Regarding A-04 Social Media Assignment.
• The reading this week focused on four specific practice models. Each of these have their own forum with targeted questions. The four forums are as follows:
  • Case Management Model
  • Empowerment Model
  • Crisis Intervention
  • Advocacy Model

Unit Resources

The Case Management Society of America has a career center where many positions are posted in Washington State. For the students working on their BASW, these are some examples of work opportunities you could seek post-graduation with just your bachelor’s degree.
